Joe Bologna’s has something for everyone, no matter how old they may be or what their tastes prefer! We serve a great variety of meals at a great price, and we welcome people of all ages to our fun, casual restaurant.
Our building, which was built in 1891 and is on the National Register of Historic Places, is conveniently located on Maxwell Street, between Upper and Limestone. We are just a stone’s throw from the University of Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum, Rupp Arena in Downtown Lexington and Commonwealth Stadium (which is slightly farther, at just over one mile away). So, we are an excellent choice for your pre-game or post-game celebrations, as well as your "regular" nights out!
Our varied menu includes just about anything Italian, including pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches, subs, salads, lasagna, manicotti, cannelloni fettuccine, penne pasta and more. We use only the best ingredients to make the best meals.
If you’re planning a special event and need a caterer, call us at 859-259-0495. We’ll help make your party, wedding, church dinner or school fund raiser a success!
Joe Bologna was born and raised in Detroit. After cooking in the Army for several years, he visited Lexington to attend the wedding of a childhood friend and fell in love with Lexington and the Bluegrass Region. In 1973, he decided to relocate to the area and opened his first restaurant at 103 W. Maxwell Street. That building is still there, and Joe Bologna's office is next door. Joe later relocated to the current location. Today, Joe Bologna’s is known throughout Kentucky as a “destination” restaurant.
